Jason Roberts

Advanced Trainer

Owner Hit and Run Sports Center
Jason Roberts is a former college pitching coach at County College of Morris and was invited to try-out with the Chicago Cubs. He is a Nationally Certified Pitching Coach. Jason is the founder of the GR8 Pitching/Throwing Program and Jefferson Lightning Travel Baseball Program. He holds clinics for baseball players and coaches, and never seems to run out of energy when it comes to his love of baseball or support for local youth baseball teams.

Availability Hours are: Monday & Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Mike Pena

Trainer

Hit and Run General Manager/ HR Academy Coach
Mike attended Misericordia University (Dallas, PA) where, as a pitcher, he helped the Cougars win back to back conference titles & earn NCAA tournament berths. His coaching career started in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania where he helped the youth baseball community grow and strive Mike Specializes in Individual Hitting, Pitching and Fielding Instruction.

Availability Hours are: Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Adam Bonfiglio

Advanced Trainer

Hit and Run Academy Coach
Adam is the current Hitting Coach at County College of Morris Baseball and the universal voice of hitting at the Hit and Run Academy. He coached at Morris Knolls High School for 25 years. Adam has consistently displayed his love for the game especially hitting through various camps and clinics he holds on hitting. Adam is a graduate of Iona College (Division 1). Adam Specializes in Individual Hitting and Fielding Instruction.

Donny Callahan

Trainer

Hit and Run Academy Coach
Donny Callahan is a former varsity standout for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights. He is also a 2-time recipient of the Kish Academic Award, which honors the Rutgers baseball player with the top grade point average on the team. Callahan patrolled the outfield during his time at Rutgers, earning him an athletic scholarship to play for the Scarlet Knights after his first year . Donny Specializes in Individual Hitting and Fielding Instruction.

Kevin Richmond

Advanced Trainer

Hit and Run Academy Coach
Kevin attended Countryside High School where he was a 4-year varsity letterman, named All-County his Junior and Senior years, and was named 1st Team All-State his Senior year. After high school, Kevin played baseball at Florida State University for legendary college baseball coach Mike Martin.While at Florida State, Kevin was named to the pre-season ACC All-Freshman team. Kevin helped his team to a 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference championship, set a record with 25 consecutive wins, and earn a #1 ranking in NCAA polls. Kevin closed out his collegiate career at the University of Central Florida, where in 2004 his team won the Atlantic Sun Conference championship. In the regionals, Kevin was named to the All NCAA Regional team, as well as the NCAA Regional Tournament 1st team. After college, Kevin signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals. Before injuries cut his career short during the 2006 Spring Training, Kevin batted over .250 in over 50 professional at bats, and was a special invite to Winter Camp. Kevin’s experiences and knowledge of the game are sure to be a great addition to our staff. Kevin is available for private lessons and will help assist our Outlaw coaches at practices.

Alex Guerra

Trainer

Hit and Run Academy Coach
Alex Guerra is a GR8 trainer and comes to Hit & Run after a standout career at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. Alex earned a spot on the All Mid-Atlantic Region team after his senior year and ranks in the top-10 in several career statistical categories at F&M including ERA, wins, innings pitched, games started, and shutouts. Prior to F&M, Alex played baseball at Randolph High School, where he and his teammates went on to win the first state championship in school history. Despite ending his playing career, Alex remained loyal to the game, finding a coaching opportunity at his alma mater, Randolph High School, and becoming the Manager of the freshman team in the 2016 season. He also has experience coaching summer travel teams and legion teams. In his free time, Alex still plays baseball in a recreational Sunday league and is a competitive CrossFit athlete. We are excited to have Alex as a part of our staff and are sure our clients will enjoy learning from his experiences.

Sean Roberts

Jr. Trainer

Hit and Run Academy Coach
Sean Roberts is a Pope John High School graduate and a collegiate athlete. Throughout high school, Sean received multiple scholarships from Division 1 schools. At Pope John, Sean’s name is in the top 10 for almost every category: innings pitched, ERA, strikeouts, wins, and WHIP. He was named NJ Herald player of the year, county MVP, 1st team all-state, and had a dominating performance in the senior all-star game. Throughut his career, he has pitched in a number of championship and “must win” games. What Sean brings to the table is not only his knowledge of pitching mechanics, but the mentality and awareness of being a dominant pitcher.

George Somers is a Pope John graduate and after receiving multiple offers for baseball, he decided on Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. Throughout his baseball career George has played multiple positions in a highly competitive environment. With strong knowledge of both catching and infield, Somers has a strong baseball mind. George is a highly competetive player and very energetic.
